Terms of Service
What CruiseQuest is
CruiseQuest is a fan-made photo scavenger hunt game for passengers aboard Carnival Cruise Line ships. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Carnival Corporation & plc or any of its subsidiaries. "Carnival," ship names, and related marks are trademarks of Carnival Corporation.
Scope of use
CruiseQuest is provided for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use it to run a commercial service, resell access, or scrape data.
User responsibilities
- Nicknames — must not contain profanity, hate speech, or content that impersonates another person. We reserve the right to remove or rename any nickname that violates these rules.
- Photos — by submitting a photo you confirm you have the right to upload it. Do not upload photos of other people without their consent. Do not upload illegal content.
- Fair play — submitting fabricated or manipulated photos to pass AI verification is not allowed and may result in removal from leaderboards.
- Ship conduct — CruiseQuest encourages exploring the ship respectfully. Do not trespass in crew-only areas or disrupt other passengers while playing.
Intellectual property
Game code, design, and content are © the CruiseQuest developer. Target categories, hunt mechanics, and the Captain Splash mascot are original creative works.
Your content & photo license
You keep full ownership of every photo you upload. By submitting a photo, you grant CruiseQuest a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, and reproduce that photo within the game — including the public gallery, your Sail & Sign recap card, collage and Reel exports, and leaderboard thumbnails — for as long as your account exists or until you request deletion. This license exists solely to run the features described in the Privacy Policy; CruiseQuest does not sell your photos or sublicense them for advertising.
If you want a specific photo or your entire photo history removed, email [email protected] and we'll delete it within 30 days.
Disclaimer of warranties
CruiseQuest is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy of AI verification, or leaderboard integrity. The game may be modified, paused, or discontinued at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CruiseQuest and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the game.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
Dispute resolution
If a dispute arises from these Terms or your use of CruiseQuest, we will first try to resolve it informally — email [email protected] with a description of the issue and we will respond within 14 days. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days of that first email, both parties agree to binding arbitration conducted under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules in Bexar County, Texas. You and CruiseQuest waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action or class arbitration. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in court for intellectual-property matters.
Accessibility
CruiseQuest is built mobile-first and targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA — semantic HTML, keyboard-navigable controls, visible focus indicators, labeled form inputs, and sufficient color contrast. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email [email protected] and we will prioritize a fix.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the game after changes constitutes acceptance.
